Interex Forest Products Ltd. (Interex) was established in 1993 as the overseas export marketing arm for four well known Western Canadian lumber and panel products manufacturers. Over the last 30 years, we have shipped a total of 620,000 containers (twenty-foot equivalent or TEU):
- 3.760 billion board feet or 8,870,000 m3 of lumber products
- 5.780 billion square feet (3/8” basis) or 5,137,000 m3 of panel products, almost exclusively OSB
Today, with our head office located in the Greater Vancouver region, we are a wholly owned subsidiary of the Dunkley Lumber Ltd who operate 3 sawmills in Western Canada producing approximately 1,300,000 m3 of lumber annually. We also maintain an office in Tokyo to support trade to and from Japan.
Our focus remains true to our roots: transparency and professionalism in all aspects of our business relationships while setting the standard for service to our clients in the building materials industry. We invest in technologies that allow up the moment order and documents tracking. Our logistics team works with major ocean, rail, and truck operations while also operating warehouses and reloads to offer our clients the most efficient logistics pathways available.
From our inception, our primary focus has been on the offshore markets for North American products and a major part of our success has been due in part to having a Tokyo sales office. While our focus has been exporting North American building materials to customers in Pacific Rim countries, we have established an import program with a wide array of high-quality building materials as well as Dunkley Lumber’s high grade lumber products for offer to clients in Canada and the USA.
Since 1993, our business has grown by providing products with consistent quality that meets or exceeds our clients’ expectations and by adding new products that fit identified needs; all with a strategic, consistent, and competitive approach to market. Though Dunkley Lumber Ltd is our core supplier, we also work with other forest product manufacturers that are committed to sustained yield forestry management utilizing environmentally sound techniques and/or are PEFC Chain of Custody (CoC) certified (PEFC/26-31-87).
